When it honestly comes to the window docks, there’s a lot out in the market to choose. But honestly speaking there all ugly looking pieces of plastic. And usually stick out of your dash board not really helping in having your mobile device look good while docked above your radio. I have brought (and returned) many window docks, since in this industry of the custom cars, you like showing off what you have in these shows to get those extra points. When I received my Griffin Window Seat AUX, I was extremely pleased with the design of the dock.

Packaging & Dock inside C4 Show Cars

At first glance, the entire kit brings the main docking clip, a short suction up arm, and an extension arm. Kit allows you to either place it on the dash or on the windshield. The mounting base lets you move 360 degree’s. So it’s perfect for navigation apps like Navigon or C4 Mobile (self pun yes I know). And thats not it, but they include an AUX-in cable for you to plug directly into the radio.

Honestly I’m in love with this dock. Testing it out last night, the phone stays on like a champ. I had a previous dock from another company that when I would go over a bump, the damn thing will slowly start leaning downward. It was truly annoying. And let me tell you for a person like myself that has to have their cars looking right (it’s a show thing), having a piece of plastic fall every time you went over a bump it’s enough to make you want to throw it out the window. But bump after bump, the dock stayed put.

The dock makes your dashboard look like a complete command center at night. And for the bluetooth headset owners. This device is defiantly for you. Giving you the power to honestly go completely hands free, and keeping yr hands and eyes on the road. Because lets face it. even if you have your bluetooth on, you always still look down on who’s calling you or when you hear the chime from a new text message. Why because it’s just a habit we have grown into over the years. Having the dock mounted at the corner of the A-Pillar, not only lets you keep yr eyes on the road, but the corner of your eye catches the call coming in, or when you get a new text message. (obviously don’t read it).

Having tested the docks on our show cars, 2000 Cadillac Escalade, 2002 Chevy TrailBlazer, and 2007 Nissan Sentra. The dock looks awesome in every single car I tested it in. In conclusion, this is the very first windshield mount that I have nothing negative to say. I truly recommend this kit for anyone in the hobby that enjoys having technology and wants to show off the phone with the rest of the interior. All the bluetooth headset owners, that finally want to keep their eyes and hands on the steering wheel and truly go hands free. This is the mount for you.

And for all the iPhone owners, rejoice YOU CAN HAVE A CASE AND LEAVE IT ON!!! That alone is worth the money. You have no idea what a pain it is to have to take your damn case off, mount the phone, when your done, take the phone out, slap the case back on. Like really people? But with Griffin’s you can honestly leave the case on. I tested this with my iPhone 4 with the incase slider case, I thought well here we go never going to fit, and it fit perfect. I was amazed by that. Finally a mount done right.

Not only is it built right, but for the price ($29.99) it’s a very good deal. Most other mounts go for $40 and even a crazy $60, and feel crapy in your hands, plastic is ugly looking. And just overall feels cheap. Griffin pulled off a great window mount. And non-ios owners breath, this mount works with a mess of different phones, check out below:
